time is rushing by!

…or is it just that I feel it is? However, its now three weeks that we are here and it starts to feel like home – a little at least ;) Last weekend our buddy Sandro from Lucerne University came over for a visit. Since he is studying at an English College in Sydney it was kind of a short trip. We had a really good time, lying at the beach, partying, cooking and eating together ;) check out the pics! haha

Despite of having a lot of fun, Uni started slowly but surely. Heaps of readings, research and also some writings are already in the schedule! Its quiet a bit different from Uni at home, even more I like it :)

Its past 9am, I had coffee and scrambled eggs, am ready to go to the library — and you know what? Salt is less salty and sugar is more sweet than we use to have it in Switzerland… or is it just that I feel it like that? ;)

A smooth start at USC in Australia

After the exam round at the university of Lucerne I had about 2 days to clean my apartment and to get myself ready for leaving. I made it! As Fabian and Martin were on the same flight from Zürich to Brisbane, we met at the airport on Friday night. Martin and I were quite short in time to board the plane, so just after the security check an officer adviced us to hurry up otherwise we would miss the plane. We did it as the very last ones – it was the first time I was welcomed personally by name at the gate ;)
Anyways, lets shorten that story a little. The orientation week at the University of the Sunshine Coast (http://www.usc.edu.au) started right away the next day we arrived. We got an overview and an introduction into campus-life and as well short lectures on how studying at USC is happening. Writing assignments will probably be the most challenging topic here. Oh well, I missed the part of how we live here. We have a shared apartment in Varsity apartments (check this place out on http://www.varsityapartments.com.au). To be precise: each one of us has a shared apartment with 3 other guys. Varsity is next to the uni campus and is like a small village. Each house has four apartments with four rooms with ensuite bathroom, shared livingroom and kitchen. Its a great place to be! Its has BBQ places, beach volley field, tennis court, lap pool etc etc. We meet new people all day :) But now, after two weeks of getting started, its time to start the serious life of studying ;) By saying that, it just reminds me of my readings I have to do for tomorrow… so I’ll come to an end for now. There will be heaps of new stories later on :) (author: Tamino)
